Warsaw Rising 1944

This project was developed in cooperation between the Topography of Terror Foundation in Berlin and the Warsaw Rising Museum for the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Rising.

Integral elements of the project are an exhibit presented in the Topography of Terror Documentation Centre, an interactive Internet page accessible from mobile devices and a bilingual catalogue (German-English).

This exhibition prepared by the Warsaw Rising Museum shows the history of Warsaw from 1918 – the time when Warsaw was a vibrant city, the development of which was interrupted by the Second World War. Special attention is drawn to the phenomenon of the 63 days of fighting during the Warsaw Rising – and the price, which Warsaw and Poland paid for its love of freedom. Our story ends with the city reborn after years of totalitarian enslavement – we show a dynamically developing city, which escaped its sentence and became a leader in this part of Europe.

A new look of the exhibition prepared by the Warsaw Rising Museum at the Topography of Terror Documentation Center.

26 July – 13 October 2019 | daily 10.00-20.00 | Free entrance
